ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

DBE Supportive Services Needs Assessment Survey

The Illinois Department of Transportation is committed to providing support and development to Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) in Illinois.  By completing the DBE Needs Assessment, your company will play an active role in identifying business and industry barriers that should be addressed. Completing the DBE Needs Assessment will help to measure and identify business needs and concerns in the areas of financial management, work capacity and aspects of construction industry barriers.

The information on the needs assessment will be used by IDOT Supportive Services to deliver assistance specific to the needs of your company.  It will also be used by IDOT’s Bureau of Small Business Enterprises to better understand and address barriers throughout Illinois and identify candidates for the Business Development Program.

IDOT’s goal is to work with you to improve your business and increase your opportunities to obtain contracts with IDOT. In order to receive services through the Supportive Services program, each DBE is now required to complete and submit this form for services.

About the Business Development Program

IDOT has committed to creating a Business Development Program (BDP), to be initiated by October 1, 2014.  The purpose of this program is to evaluate and provide a structured process for DBEs to receive firm-specific training and guidance to assist in their growth and competitiveness within the transportation industry.

Participants accepted into this program will work with Supportive Services to develop a comprehensive business plan and implement an action plan to address strengths, weaknesses and opportunities specific to the firm. The IDOT DBE Needs Assessment (required for supportive services assistance) must also be completed to be considered for the Business Development Program. No additional application is required.

Deadline for consideration is November 30th, 2014.
